Jyoti Jaiswal, Ph.D., M.S., was trained as a cell and developmental biologist and then pursued his Ph.D. studies on genetic regulation of cell fate determination. His postdoctoral studies involved development and use of microscopy tools for live-cell imaging and using them to study the mechanisms of intracellular membrane trafficking. He continues to examine the membrane trafficking machinery in the context of injury and infection and translate this knowledge into therapies. He strives to enhance utilization of optical imaging approaches for biomedical research and is passionate about training the next generation of scholars who wish to pursue basic science aimed at enhancing human health and well-being.
