Yanxin Pei, Ph.D., is an associate professor in pediatrics at George Washington University and faculty member at Children’s National Hospital. Her research focuses on pediatric brain tumors, particularly the malignant embryonal brain tumors that are in greatest need of improved therapies. Her studies involve generating diverse preclinical mouse models to elucidate the mechanisms of metastasis, therapeutic resistance, and tumor relapse. Using the mechanistic insights gained from these models, her studies further aim to develop innovative therapeutic strategies that can be rapidly translated to the clinic. Her primary research interest is the use of CAR T and other engineered cell therapies for the treatment of pediatric brain tumors.
