Our Research
Our research focuses on the intersection of gene editing (e.g., CRISPR-Cas9, Cas13, base editing), computation (e.g., algorithms, machine learning) and human disease (e.g., cancer, infectious disease). We develop innovative algorithms to model large-scale datasets, especially genome-engineering and single-cell genomics datasets. In addition, we apply both computational and experimental approaches to understand human genome functions in different contexts, and to identify novel therapeutic targets in a variety of diseases including cancer and infectious disease.
