American University Kogod School of Business
The Sheikh Zayed Institute collaborated with full-time MBA students from American University Kogod School of Business and students from the International Design Business Management (IDBM) program at Finland’s Aalto University to develop the concept and prototype for a medical device to collect data from the pupil and send diagnostic information to a smartphone. Beyond developing a useful tool to aid in diagnosing children, the pupillometer project has provided the opportunity for all involved to stretch beyond professional comfort zones. The primary market for the pupillometer will be a useful diagnostic tool for medical professionals in a hospital setting.
